Dr. Jackie Li is currently a Teaching Fellow in the Division of Banking and Finance at Nanyang Business School (NBS). Dr. Li obtained his Ph.D. degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Melbourne, Australia. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA) and a committee member of General Insurance Committee (GIC) of Singapore Actuarial Society (SAS).
Dr. Li has been lecturing and tutoring various actuarial courses including
Financial Mathematics (CT1), Probability and Mathematical Statistics (CT3),
Models (CT4), Contingencies (CT5), Statistical Methods (CT6), and specialisation course General Insurance. His main research areas are
stochastic loss reserving, risk margins, copulas, MCMC simulation, and other
property/casualty insurance issues. Before joining Nanyang Technological
University (NTU), Dr. Li worked as an actuary with American International
Group (AIG) and Watson Wyatt in the areas of general insurance and
superannuation respectively. He was involved in a variety of actuarial work
including reserving, pricing, capital modelling, investment portfolio
monitoring, cash flow management, database management, and actuarial
programming. His Ph.D. dissertation was on uncertainty of outstanding claims
liabilities and related to application of stochastic reserving methods in
general insurance practice. |
